TeamManila Bags Three at the Adobo Design Awards 2014
One of the most anticipated events in the Filipino design scene, the Adobo Design Awards 2014 concluded with a bang last March 28 at the Ayala Museum in Greenbelt 5.
In consistent search for the best creatives in the Philippines, the Adobo Design Awards “aims to champion the best designs and recognize the people behind them” since its beginning in 2007. In this year’s theme, “Design for the Future”, the Adobo Design Awards remained open to all professionals and amateur designers whether in school or not. A platform in catering local design that is set for world-class, this year’s jury featured prominent Filipino designers and creative directors together with Lucille Tenazas, a world-renowned design educator and founding chair of the MFA Design Program at the California College Arts in San Francisco.
Holding more than 10 categories (Press and Poster, Branding Identity, Typography, Illustration, Publishing, Packaging Design, and Web just to name a few) this year’s theme puts highlight on environmentally-conscious designs that uses locally-sourced material.
With around 400 entries submitted, the Adobo Design Awards narrowed down more than 60 exceptional works as finalist concluding with five Gold winners, 14 Silver winners, and 42 Bronze winners who took home their well-deserved trophies.
TeamManila Graphic Design Studio was one of the awardees bringing home three Bronze awards for projects Nike Lebron x TeamManila (Best in Applied Typography), Mapa Manila (Best Design Collateral), and Flying Ipis ‘Give Ipis A Chance’ Album (Best Packaging Design). Along with the other winners, this recognition definitely is an honor for the team.
